Sozo Good!

Updated: Jun 8, 2022

The following verses contain derivatives of the Greek word sozo, which means being made wellmade wholesavedhealed, etc. (1). By no means is this list exhaustive (2). It's purpose is to help us understand what salvation through Jesus entails, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. --Ephesians 1:17‭-‬21 ESV

Sozo verses:

“and implored him earnestly, saying, ‘My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.’" --Mark 5:23 ESV

“For she said, ‘If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.’" --Mark 5:28 ESV

“And he said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.’" --Mark 5:34 ESV

“And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.” --Mark 6:56 ESV

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” --Mark 16:16 ESV

“And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed.” --Luke 8:36 ESV

“And he said to him, ‘Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.’" --Luke 17:19 ESV

“And Jesus said to him, ‘Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.’" --Luke 18:42 ESV

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'” --Acts 2:21 ESV

“if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,” --Acts 4:9 ESV

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.’" --Acts 4:12 ESV

“He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well,” --Acts 14:9 ESV

“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” --Romans 10:9 ESV

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” --Ephesians 2:8 ESV

“And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” --James 5:15 ESV

If you have not yet experienced this great salvation (or every aspect of it), I recommend my post “Would You Like to Kick Satan's Butt Personally?
